TGIF

I am so glad its Friday. Starting school again is not only an adjustment for the girls but for me, too! Even though, most weekends, we still have to get up and get ready to go somewhere (soccer, church, etc) it somehow feels different than having to get up and go to school. Maybe because Kyle is home to help or maybe because we are all together.

I hate having to rush the girls to get ready in the morning. Kellen is a dilly-dallyer, it drives me crazy because I am the type of person who does things (too) fast. Kellen is not a morning person (like me) so it takes her awhile to get going. Me, I'm just a grouch in the mornings, so when I tell her to go brush her teeth 20 times (okay, maybe 5 times), I literally think my head might explode. Jenna is a morning person, but boy can she lose it if she doesn't go to bed on time. Time will only tell with No. 3, she is still just happy to have me finally come get her out of her crib in the morning, after her naps, etc! She is the one who is totally laid back.

So, when they get on the bus, I always feel like it wasn't a very fun morning. Just hurry, hurry, hurry. I can't wait for them to come home. Kellen asked me to pick her up on Fridays, I think she is always anxious for the weekend, too. This is the first year they have ridden the bus. I always took Kellen to school and picked her up every day. I am not a big fan of the bus (since I was a teacher's kid, I never rode the bus) because they have to ride with the older kids and its also where you LEARN things - you know what I'm talking about. Riley was never able to take a real nap because she was always getting dragged around to get the girls and take the girls and wait on the girls...so this year I thought I would give her a break and since I'm not driving to and from school 3 different times (we have half day Kindergarten) she is taking great naps and is a totally different kid from last year. So, I have given up control once again (not so easy for this confessed control freak) and they are riding the dreaded bus.

We have a lot to look forward to this weekend. Tonight is the Kindergarten pizza social and the whole family goes. They are going to have a magician and we will get to meet the parents of the other kids in Jenna's class.

Saturday is our "crazy" day. The girls both have soccer again. They are taking pictures and Kellen's league has been invited by another town to play in a soccer fun day. Its like a little mini-tournament. Who knows? All this soccer may pay off some day, just check out my awesome cousin, Kate! Jenna has a birthday party to go to and its our turn to host the sleepover.

UT has the weekend off (thank goodness they beat Arkansas State!) so I hope they are getting in lots of practice for the Georgia game on the 6th! The Colts play the Broncos on Sunday and hopefully the game will be on TV up here. Other than church and the game, Sunday is an unplanned day. It will be nice to just relax on the weekend for a change instead of running around everywhere.

Now on to my favorite subject, Season Premier Week! OMG, was The Office not the funniest thing on TV last night?! Hilarious. We dvr'ed Private Practice, Ugly Betty and Grey's. We'll watch those tonight. Heroes was awesome and I can't wait for Kristen Bell (she played Veronica Mars, which was the best show on tv that nobody watched) to join the cast. We have been watching Kid Nation with the girls, which crosses the line in so many ways, but the girls are fascinated. We also watched The Reaper on Wednesday - this may be my favorite new show. Funny, funny, funny. Of course, since I come from the Beverly Hills 90210 era, I had to check out Kelly Taylor aka Jennie Garth on Dancing With The Stars. I am also looking forward to the return of Desperate Housewives and Friday Night Lights (I mean, its a show about football, how could you go wrong?). I want to check out the new show Pushing Daisies, as well. If only Lost was starting now, I would be in heaven.

Well, now that everyone has learned of my ridiculous obsession with the tv set, I will go before I embarrass myself any further!
(BTW, I changed the colors on the blog to reflect the season. Can you tell I'm trying not to go wash my dishes!)
