Soccer mom...

Well my duties as a "soccer mom" have officially started this week. Kellen is playing soccer yet again and her practices are Monday and Wednesday nights with games on Saturdays. Jenna is also playing soccer for the first time this year. She has practice on Saturdays. It is really fun to watch them "play" soccer. What won't be fun is when they both have soccer on Saturdays at the same time (like this coming Saturday) on opposite ends of town. I feel bad for Jenna because either Kyle or I will miss her first soccer practice, while everyone has always made it for Kellen's games. Having two of them in activities is going to take some getting used to.

Dance also started this week. Jenna has dance on Wednesdays and so does Kellen. You would think that would be easy, but no, Jenna's is at 1:40 and Kellen's is at 4:50! Which means...get Jenna off the bus, feed Jenna and Riley lunch, get ready for dance, drive 25 minutes to dance, dance!, drive home, Riley down for a nap, get Kellen off the bus, give Kellen and Jenna a snack, get Kellen ready for dance, get Riley up, drive to dance, dance!, drive home. Whew! Just typing that made me tired. Dance is fun, though, and those recitals are pretty darn cute!

And Girl Scouts. Kellen was in Brownies last year and her leader could not do it this year, so who begrudgingly took on the troop? Me. What was I thinking??? I had my first leader meeting last night and didn't get home until almost 10:00. Completely overwhelming. There is more paperwork to fill out than you could ever imagine. However, it should be fun and there are tons of activities to do. When Kellen was born and I decided to stay home, I had visions of being a Brownie leader. In my visions, though, we were singing songs and playing games and camping out, not filling out hundreds of forms!

Last night was also the Parent Orientation night for Kindergarten. So, after a mad dash from dance class and a run through McDonald's drive thru and a frantic call to Kyle to see if he could go on to the orientation (kids weren't supposed to come) and switch with me once I could get there (somebody had to help with homework, bathe and get them into bed), I finally made it to the school. Kyle took the girls home and then I stayed and listened to the rest of the orientation. Jenna has the same teacher Kellen had, so it wasn't all new to us, thank goodness. Then it was down to the library at school for the leader meeting.

The dress Riley is wearing in the picture above is one that my Uncle Burch brought back from the Philippines when I was little. She had physical therapy this morning for her low muscle tone. She was a late walker and her walk was immature for her age, so she has been getting PT for about a month and a half now and is doing so much better. She can climb on anything and is very fast. She was 21 months old yesterday. I can't believe she is almost two!

There is always so much going on and life is so busy but its also a lot of fun and I wouldn't have it any other way.
