Labor Day weekend is over and we had a fun and busy one. Saturday we went to visit Kyle's mom and Dale and spent the day eating lots of yummy food and playing on the beach. They live in West Haven right off of the shore, so after a quick and steep! walk down we were right at the ocean! The girls had a great time playing in the sand and collecting shells. Kyle helped them fly a kite and even though the water was freezing, we also had fun wading in the water. Sunday, we had a cookout with Kyle's dad and the girls had fun playing in the pool and having a water balloon fight. Needless to say after a very fun two days the girls were worn out! Monday was just a lazy day full of chores and naps.
Saturday was also the start of UT football! Even though the game was disappointing, we still cannot wait for the rest of the season. The girls slept through the game since it was on too late, but they slept in their Tennessee t-shirts. Saturdays this fall will be all about the orange!
Sunday was also Fantasy Football Draft day for us. Kyle and I are playing in a couples league with some good friends of ours. My strategy was to pick only players that I knew, which means any Colts player or former UT players. Kyle did not agree with my strategy, but I don't care, I just want to enjoy rooting on my team! Since it is football season, that brings on our other favorite team - the Indianapolis Colts! We will always be Peyton Manning fans and since college football is not so popular in Connecticut we are big Colts fans (double plus that the New England Patriots is the Colts biggest rivalry!).
So, weekends in the fall are usually spent at a sports bar (family friendly, of course) because we don't get too many Tennessee games up here (our town doesn't get College Game Day plan with our cable!!!) or even Colts games since they play mostly the Jets, Giants and Patriots. I grew up going to UT games every Saturday and my girls will grow up watching every game at the sports bars. Its our tradition.
The girls are back at school today and Kyle is in NYC for the night for a work conference. Right now its just Riley and me, which is nice. I think she appreciates the alone time. She still takes a short morning nap, so that is my "get everything done" time. When Jenna gets home (she is in half day Kindergarten), we are going to meet a friend at Johnny Rockets for lunch and hopefully shop for new school shoes. That should be fun. Then, back to get Kellen off the bus! I love when they come home.
So, starts another week...

Rebecca, thank you for sending this to me. Since you are so far away from us, this will help me keep up with you, your family, and your life. Yes, we will ALWAYS be Big Orange fans and never lose the faith! Thank goodness you have Peyton to root for!! The pics of the girls were cute.
Aunt Rebecca
Rebecca, this is great! We share the same fantasy football strategy, and I beat all the Gunter boys last time I had a team. We had to get the Game Plan for the first time this year and plan to start Emory early. Her crib mobile plays Rocky Top!
