The Fair

The girls and I did go to the Harvest Fair last night for about two hours. We had a great time and only did a few rides and games, ate dinner and looked around. We will go back on Saturday and do EVERYTHING! The pictures for today are from the fair. For some reason, the favorite thing to do is the bumper cars. I don't know why because they always end up getting stuck and not really going anywhere! Jenna loves the swings. Riley's favorite is the carousel, but I didn't get that picture because I was riding with her! The favorite game was the duck pond where they had to pick up ducks and see what prize they won. Riley enjoyed that since she could play as well. The picture of Jenna blowing the horn is of them playing with their prizes. We really had a nice time, but we can't wait until Saturday when Kyle can go, too.

The one bummer of the day, though, is that Kellen came home from school very tired. She almost didn't want to go to the fair. So, my first thought was uh oh, Kellen is getting sick. Obviously, we went on to the fair, at which she seemed fine. We came home and had ice cream, no problems there, either. Got ready for bed, all seems well. Then, when Kyle and I went to bed and checked in on them, Kellen felt hot. Kyle took her fever - 101.4. So that meant, according to school policy, that she couldn't go to school today. And what was going on at school today? A field trip - to the fair. Oh well, at least she went yesterday!

Of course, this morning she seems completely healthy. No fever, she is playing and eating like normal, she just seems a little congested. We are going to the doctor just to rule anything (like STREP!) out.

I am completely crossing my fingers that he gives her a clean bill of health because tonight is date night for Kyle and me! We switch off once a month with our friends Lisa and Michael, who have two daughters, Maddie and Beth. Maddie and Kellen have been BEST friends since pre-school and Beth is three. Our girls sleepover at their house (not Riley, of course, but soon, we go pick her up after our date) and they sleepover at our house once a month and the parents get to go out! It is so nice to go out to dinner and only cut up MY food. The girls think we are related in some way to Maddie and Beth and it is so great to have such good friends. So, needless to say I hope she is just run down after having to adjust to school again and seeing how she is tap dancing in her red, sparkly shoes right now, I'm guessing (and still hoping that I'm not just in denial) we are good to go!
