The Great Escape

There must be a little "crazy" in the air! I just reread my last post and definitely detected a little "crazy" from myself! Yes, I did get the tree down. I turned into the Grinch for about 2 hours and took everything down and boxed it up. The tree is now laying on our deck and this weekend I will be hurling it into the yard for that final bit of craziness before Kyle drags it away.

After everything was down, I have to admit I felt much better. To just have Christmas hanging over my head, while trying to make that fresh "New Year's" start was completely getting to me.

Another "crazy" thing is our weather! I did not move up north to have 60 degree weather in January!!!!! All of my beautiful snow has melted away and my yard has turned into one huge mud puddle. I usually don't have that to deal with until April! I am really hoping that things will get back to normal and the cold weather will return. I want my snow back!

Crazy doesn't even begin to explain what is going on with Britney. I truly hope for her sake and the sake of those little boys that she gets some help ~ along with her entire family! And for the sake of the country and the world, here's to hoping that the fascination with these young girls who are acting bad and being glorified for it would just go away. Its hard to keep sheltering my own girls from these idiots.
And now I have a crazy little story to tell. Two nights ago, our lobster (really he is a blue crawfish) decided to find out what life was like outside his tank. King Triton resides in a tank on my dresser in our bedroom. Why do I have a blue lobster tank in my bedroom, you ask? Because my loving family decided I needed fish for Mother's Day. Sweet, huh? Well, the fish have since passed on, but we got something a little cooler. This crazy little bugger. So, on to the great escape.

At about 3:20 AM (mind you we were actually sleeping on this night as opposed to pacing back and forth between the steamy bathroom and the open windows trying to fight the croup), Kyle wakes up like he has heard something. Which, of course, wakes me up. My first thought was the girls, but then he shushed me so that he could listen. And then we hear it. Scuttle. Scuttle. Scuttle. We pay someone to make sure no little creatures venture into our house, so I was horrified that there was a mouse in our bedroom (I probably would not ever be able to sleep in our room again!). Kyle turned on the light and we definitely were making some noise and the sound didn't stop, so we were pretty sure that it wasn't a mouse. So, wondering what the heck could be making that noise, Kyle got up and noticed that King Triton's tank was empty! I have never seen Kyle move so fast. We found KT under the bed trying to climb the wall. I still have no idea 1)how he got out of the fish tank complete with heavy black lid, 2) how he survived the fall off the dresser and 3) how he was able to breathe and survive so long outside the water. The king is back safe and sound in his now weighted down lidded tank and as far as I know hasn't left the building.

One thing I learned in King Triton's little adventure is that Kyle is perhaps not such a sound sleeper after all. All this time he has been snoring away while the girls get up in the night. Not anymore, honey! It reminds me of the time he claimed to not know how to make up the bed. Kyle was in the Army for goodness sake! He could probably make up a bed better than me! The jig is up.

So, I hope my reign of "crazy" is over for at least a few days!
