The past five days sucked. Let me take you back...
Saturday
Kyle (who was feeling much better) took Jenna to her make up dance class. Our dance teacher is a bit like the soup nazi from Seinfeld. I'm scared of her. If she says we have to make up a class - we make up the class. So at 8:00 on Saturday morning they head off and I take Kellen and Riley to my hair appointment. I have so much gray hair I finally broke down and let my st
ylist put in highlights. The whole family met back at home and Kyle had picked up our favorite bagels. My first clue that something wasn't right happened now. Jenna didn't want any. Jenna is the foodie in our family. She loves to try new things, she loves to cook and she appreciates the best. So when she didn't want one of these bagels, bells should have been going off in my head.
Then we headed out to buy a recliner for Kyle. He desperately wanted a "MAN" chair, since everything else in this house is dictated by females. On the way home we stopped at the grocery store, and got sandwiches made. Jenna didn't touch hers. {I was just completely ignoring the bells, whistles and flashing lights at this point.} Later that night, I was on the phone with my friend Lisa. She has bronchitis. Jenna starts crying, so I asked Lisa to hang on. I checked on Jenna. She is hysterical because her throat hurts. I bent down to kiss her forehead. She. Was. Burning. Up.
Sunday
Not only does Jenna wake up again with a fever, but so do Kellen and Riley. We basically hunker down for the day. Kellen is playing basketball right now and her practices are on Sundays. Not this Sunday. Kyle and I spent the entire day (and all of Saturday night) cleaning the whole house. Again.)
Kyle and I were very strategic and put the girls to bed at 6:00! We watched the entire Superbowl completely uninterrupted. It was fantastic. We could not be more happy with the outcome of that game. Yay Giants!
Monday
I already figured the girls wouldn't be going to school, but the temperature check confirmed it. 104.7 for Kellen, 103.5 for Jenna. Miserable. Riley was normal, thank goodness. That day was just a blur of ~ "Mommy, I need water. Mommy, I'm cold. Mommy, I'm hot. Mommy, I don't want to watch Blue's Clues. Mommy,
Mommy, Mommy."
Monday afternoon was also my Brownie meeting, which I couldn't cancel because I had canceled last month's meeting. Kyle's dad graciously came to sit with my sick girls.
Tuesday
We woke up to "Its's the end of the world" weather. It is still February. It was thundering and lightning and raining like crazy. We don't usually get this kind of weather up here, period. Did I mention its February? Normally, we would have been getting a foot of snow.
It was in this crazy weather that I had to take the girls to the doctor. Flu. Great.
We had to go to the pharmacy, the grocery store for the loaf of bread that always gets eaten in like a day, and back to the pharmacy. For a fleeting moment, I almost went to vote with them. Then I remembered I wasn't insane.
Back home to more of "Mommy, can I...Mommy, I need...Mommy, Mommy, Mommy..."
Kyle gets home and I leave to go vote. As I'm walking out the door he tells me to be careful because its really foggy outside.
I'm driving on my very windy country road and literally can't see two feet in front of the car. I was totally regretting my scary movie choice from Halloween. Then I get on the main road and there is NO fog. What's up with that?
So I voted. { Warning! Tangent to follow.} I won't say who I voted for but I will say that Kyle and I belong to different parties. Its kind of nice because I always feel like he hears my opinion and I listen to his and I hope that keeps us both pretty open-minded. I will say how ironic it is that my only two up close and personal political-celebrity experiences were with Bob Dole and John McCain! When McCain was running the last time, his campaign bus stopped in the parking lot of my work in Boston. My co-workers and I knocked on the door and they let us come on the bus and get our picture taken with him! That was pretty cool.
Today
The girls are both feeling much better. They wanted to go to school, but they still have fevers. I couldn't send them in even if I wanted to. Since they feel better, they are bored to death. They are tired of watching tv. They are tired of hanging out on the couch. They are torturing Riley. I forgot to mention how Riley started running a fever of 103.7 last night and hasn't stopped crying since.
I'm sorry for the complete lack of pictures lately. I've not been in a real picture taking mood lately. If you don't hear from me in a few days, it means I've been committed.
*King Triton laid eggs. We changed his name to Queen.

Poor Mitchell's!! Goodness you've all had a rough go lately. Please let this be the end of it...if only for your sanity! :)
Sending you healthy vibes~
So sorry you guys have had what my mom likes to call the "pip". We have had it running through our school like wildfire. Stomach virus, flu, everything nasty you could imagine. If you are like me you would Lysol everything in your path if you could!
The news of "Queen" Triton sent me scouring the internet for information on Blue Crayfish reproduction (librarian nerd, I know). I couldn't find much info but I guess they lay eggs whether they are fertilized or not?
Get Well Soon!
Love,
Sara
BLESS YOUR HEART!! Your last few days have made me laugh, however I am laughing WITH you, not At you!!! Hope all are well again soon and normalcy is restored to your home!! BTW it amazes me all the things you are able to do with three little misses running around... IMPRESSIVE my dear.
And you don't have to tell who you voted for, just remember that I thank you :-)
