Colorful Monday

So...how depressing did that last blog sound? Sorry about that. I clearly needed a night out and that's exactly what I got!

On Saturday Kyle and I took the girls to Lisa's and he and I went to the movies. Have you seen Juno? It is the best movie. I was totally pulling for it last night at the Oscar's, since it was the only movie nominated that I have seen (Except the absolutely lovely Enchanted and its 3 nominated songs! None of which won - what a rip-off!) Anyway, back to Juno. I loved loved loved this movie and can hear lots of quotes being spoken by Kyle and me for years to come. I also loved the soundtrack, which will be making its way to my ipod very soon.

Then we had a great dinner and then rushed back to pick up the girls. No sleepover since we had church bright and early Sunday morning.

Kellen has been playing basketball and Sunday was her last day. She got "Most Improved" and got a certificate and a medal. She really loves playing basketball and it is very fun watching them play. Usually, Kyle and I take turns going so that one of us can stay home with Jenna and Riley. Not so much fun when they are along for the ride. Since it was the last day we all went. Jenna was not a happy camper (see exhibit A to the right) and Riley ate an entire box of TicTacs. Not our finest parenting moment but at least she didn't scream the whole time.

I am a lucky girl this week because I actually get two more nights out! Thursday is my monthly night out with my girlfriends and Friday is the opening night of The Other Boleyn Girl! My book club is going together and I cannot wait. I won't know what to do with myself and all this fabulous alone time.

Anywho. This Friday is Theodor Geisel's birthday. To celebrate his birthday and reading, Kellen and Jenna's school is having Dr. Suess week. Today was My Many Colored Monday.
They had to wear colorful clothes. And thanks to the number 1 basketball team in the country, my girls had good reason to wear their brightest orange!

Tuesday is is crazy hat day...Wacky Wednesday with mismatched clothes...Thursday is Fox in Socks day where they roll up their pants and show off their craaaazy socks...Friday is Read Across America Day and they are to wear red, black and white or stripes. My girls are in heaven with these themed days. I can just picture all those Homecoming weeks to come....

Now, I'm off to build a cabin (Lincoln Log, that is).

Love your new PINK! :) So glad you get to be out and about so often this week. That should help! This school sounds like a kid's dream~ lots of dressing up and fun stuff!! It seems most systems have taken the fun out of going to school and being a kid.

Happy Monday~
