That's right. At 31 (for a whole two more days!), a full 20 years after they were the number one thing that my life revolved around, I got to see NKOTB.
We screamed. We cried. We danced. We acted like we were 12 year old girls. And the most amazing thing of all was that the arena was filled with women acting the exact same way. The woman sitting next to me had on her New Kids t-shirt and her big ol' button from back in the day. At one point during the concert she turned to me in pure excitement and j
I remember thinking that *seriously* there could not be a cuter group of guys. I wanted them to be singing to me. I wanted to be that girl from the "Please Don't Go Girl" video. I would sit in my room and play the tapes over and over again. I had a journal that I wrote all the lyrics from every song.
And now? The 30-something, married with kids version of me is still thinking the same thing. They have only gotten better with age. Lisa and I are obviously NOT the only ones who feel this way. The concert was at Mohegan Sun and when it was over we went to get a drink and they had the old videos playing in the middle of one of the food courts. One group of women started singing along and the rest of us throughout the food court joined in. There were about 10 different tables of women singing together.
Fabulous. Marvelous. Inspiring. Thrilling. Outstanding. Excellent. Splendid. Terrific. Those words don't even come close.

Wow! I watched the You Tube video of "Please Don't Go Girl" and was just as mesmorized as I was 20 years ago. I'm glad yo uhad a fabulous time; though how could you not?
Woo hoo, Rebecca! When can we go again! I asked the girls (Kellen and Jenna) tonight if they had heard the music I was playing (old NKOTB stuff) and they said, "Yeah, that's all my mom listens to." and I said, "I know. And we were screaming our heads off when they were singing the other night." To which all four girls rolled their eyes and Maddie said,"Mom, you're embarrising me." Someday they will understand.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I have chill bumps reading this!!!! Go Rebecca! NKOTB till the end!
