My Jenna. What a free spirit she is. Laura and I used to refer to Sarah as a "twirler", as in someone you could envision twirling through a field of daisies. Well, Jenna definitely takes after her Aunt Sarah. She just brings happiness to our lives.
We celebrated Jenna and her 6th birthday on Columbus Day weekend. My parents came up for the long weekend, so we celebrated on Saturday. We started out by having her school friends come for a Halloween Carnival. We set up booths...Bob for the Poisioned Apple, Pop the Pumpkin Balloon Darts, The Scary Duck Pond, Pin the Face on the Mummy, Feed the Jack-o-Lantern and the Frightful Fishing Game. We also let the ride the Barbie car around a track as a pseudo-carnival ride. All I can say about that is that Kellen and friends turn 16 in 8 years ~ you might want to stay off the road. The kids came and got a personalized goody bag and then we let them loose on the carnival. Instead of doing pre-done goody bags, they filled theirs with the prizes from the games. Then we played Pass the Eyeballs, our take on Hot Potato and then broke the pinata. Piece of advice to any parents who have pinatas at a kid's party, cut slashes into it first ~ it takes FOREVER to break those things. Then, we came inside for cupcakes and presents. I could not have asked for better weather or a better time. I think it will be a party that Jenna remembers forever.

After the kids left, my parents, Sarah, Kris and Everett, Papa and Dorothy and Lisa, Maddie and Beth stayed and we were joined by Gramma Carol, Aunt Colleen and Uncle John for the family party. We had lunch with a "scary" theme and then more cupcakes and presents. The goal was to be done with the festivities in time for the Georgia game (Jenna was born during the GA game 6 years ago!), like that really mattered
It was a long, exhausting day, but could not have gone any better. Well, except for maybe that game.
Opening presents.
Monster Finger cookies.
Happy Birthday!
