Springy Things

Well, Happy Easter to all! Is it too late to say that?

I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off (I just love those Southern sayings!) for the past two weeks. I feel like at some point I am going to HAVE to come up for air.

Why, oh why did Easter have to come so early this year? I just wasn't ready.

I feel like I haven't been living up to the stay-at-home part of my job description lately. I have had crazy amounts of things to do and right know as I type this I can't even remember a single errand I have been on.

Even though it came so early, we had a wonderful Easter this year. The girls were so excited. Our weekend started on Friday. Kyle was able to work from home that day. The girls dyed Easter eggs and cleaned their playroom. It was just nice.

Saturday, Kellen had a make-up dance class and we then we went to Whole Foods. It just opened and I swear I could spend days in there.

For Easter, the girls hadn't really asked for anything...just chocolate for Riley...so they were super excited to find a bunny waiting for them on Easter morning!

The girls have had such a hard time since Gizmo died. Jenna has regular nightmares. Kellen is just still so sad sometimes. Riley still just wants to know where she is. Heck, I can't even see a squirrel by the side of the road that has been killed without crying. Anyway...we have been discussing what we should do. Puppies are SOOO much work and I don't think we could really give a puppy the time it would need or deserve and Kyle wants a ferret. Um, no. So, we decided on a bunny. (It also helped that a sorority sister of mine had just gotten one and was happy!)

The girls decided to name her (we think its a "her") Skipper. And she is adorable.

We had a huge day on Easter. Up very early in the morning, hunting eggs and playing with the goodies in the baskets and Skipper! Then getting ready (look at the beautiful dresses my mother made for the girls!) and barely making it to the early church service. We decided to go to the early one this year and it was a great idea. Less crowds, not as long, etc. Plus, we had a crowd coming for lunch. Sarah and Kris came over. Sarah and I cooked our traditional meal and as Sarah said, it tasted like home : )

All the New England grandparents and our good friend John also came. It was a good time.

Now its a new week. And I'm just trying to catch my breath. So far, its been just as busy as the last few. The girls have been so good and sweet lately. This 5 strikes deal we have seems to be working. This weekend's prize is to get to go see Horton. I hope they can make it without the strikes (Kellen already has three, Jenna has one) because I want to see it, too!

Now, I have to go catch a bunny!

I'm so glad you posted! I've been waiting to see the girls in their Easter dresses. They are of course beautiful (girls and dresses). Your momma did a terrific job, as usual. The bunny is too cute. BTW-What is it with guys as ferrets? Rob wants on too, which like you-um,no. Glad your Easter went well. Maybe you can take a breath now.
