Helping heal our broken hearts...

In November, it will be a year since our precious Gizmo died. We have not been the same since. Jenna is always so sad and still has heartbreaking dreams about her. Riley, even though she wasn't even two, still asks where she is. Kellen is trying hard to be such a big girl about it. Kyle still tears up when we talk about her. And I still have my break down moments.

For a while now, Kyle and I have been talking about getting another dog. One that we could rescue and that the girls could help train (inspired by a good friend!).

Well, that day has come. We brought home our sweet Patches today. She is 8 weeks old and a beautiful brindled Pit Bull mix. She was one of 8 and the last to be adopted. They don't know what the "mix" is but one of her siblings looked like a lab, one like a Shar Pei and one like a hound.

The girls are thrilled and Kyle and I feel like she should have been here all along.
