My camera, that is. So, until I can get a new one (which might not be until my birthday - in October), I am going to just have to post old pictures or no pictures. I hate that.
So...what's been going on here? Lots of stuff.
{}I have been on a cleaning frenzy. Kellen and Jenna used to share a room and Riley had her own. A while back we moved Kellen into Riley's room and Riley in with Jenna. We never really decorated just moved the beds. We bought new paint, but never did anything with it. Well, the week before school started we moved Riley into a big-girl bed (actually Jenna's bed) and then gave Jenna Kellen's bed. Which meant that Kellen had NO bed. So...for a couple of weeks she bunked with Jenna. In the meantime, I painted Kellen's room. She wanted blue with clouds painted on and stars. That's exactly what we did. I would really would like to show pictures of that because it really turned out cute. Her bed came last week (she is very excited because its a full-size bed) and now everything but the headboard (that we are going to make) is together.
Still on my cleaning frenzy, I finally went through all of the girls clothes. This is a project that had been hanging over my head for a while now. Uggh. I hate going through their clothes. With three girls born during three different seasons we have an obscene amount of clothes. Part of me hasn't wanted to go through them because of sentimental reasons. I did a lot of tearing up when I was going through them, remembering how little they once were and the fact that some clothing reminds me of each girl and something specific. I separated them into bins by size, so that we are really organized (this is something that I have attempted before, but never seriously followed through). I kept lots of sentimental stuff because my hope is to make a quilt for each girl out of their baby clothes. And...I gave away a ton of stuff to a friend who has two little girls. This is after I already gave a bunch of stuff to Laura when Emory was born. I could have opened my own store!
After going through all the clothes, I decided to re-organize Jenna and Riley's room. Jenna's bed is a loft, so I set up her American Girl doll/stuff under there. Their room has two closets. Now one of them is full of the clothes bins/Halloween costumes my mom has made {True works of art I tell you ~ if any of you out there wants a custom made Easter/Christmas dress or a one-of-a-kind Halloween costume, you should call my mother. I'm not kidding. My girls have been a caterpillar, seahorse, a girl-riding-a-horse, several mermaids, a dinosaur, a one-eyed-one-horned-flying-purple-people-eater, you name it, my mom can make it.} The other closet is full of toys and their current dresses. Now their room is clear of clutter and its just nice. In the next week or so, we are going to re-paint their rooms. Jenna wants it to look like a castle. I'm still working on that.
{} School and stuff. The girls are really enjoying school. They love their teachers. Kellen is having more homework this year, but that is to be expected. This will be Jenna's first year with homework ~ right now that makes her feel grown-up, so she is happy to have it. That doesn't last long. I have been walking every day after the girls get on the bus. I am dedicating this year to getting in shape. I like being ready to start the day (i.e. showered) when the girls go, so I got up before they did this morning and was able to get ready before they left. As much as I hate losing any of my precious sleep, this morning went a lot smoother. As a SAHM, trying to fit that shower in is always a key part of any day!
{}Patches. Boy, having a new puppy has completely turned our lives upside down! In a good way, though. She is very cute. The girls love her and as much as Kyle HATES cleaning up puppy accidents, he is happier than I have seen him in a long time. He has a twinkle in his eye that went out when Gizmo died. Every night after the girls go to bed, Patches climbs up and sits with me on the couch and its so sweet. A funny thing is happening, though. We have Pip, our bunny, and we have this big cage that we can open up and let her hop around in (instead of letting her loose in the house and chew through our electrical cords like she was doing!). Well, we want Patches to get used to the bunny and vice-versa, so we've been letting Pip out at night. Patches is so fascinated. She desperately wants to get to her, but can't. What's funny, though, is that now she is hopping. Like a bunny. My dog thinks she's a rabbit.
