Life as I know it.

Life has been a little crazy around here. Although, really, that's the way it always is. There is so much to do and never enough time to do it.

We had a great weekend last week starting on Friday. Kyle took the day off work, so we had a very relaxing morning. We took Riley to lunch and then to a new bakery for cupcakes. Aaand, I coerced Kyle into helping me with projects. Yay for me!

Our Wii system had been sitting in our family room since we got it, oh, back in May. That would have been ok if it had been hooked up to our normal television, but it wasn't. We had a separate TV for the Wii, so we had TWO TVs in our family room. The Wii TV was on our coffee table. Pushed into a corner. Like rednecks. I was slowly going crazy. We had it that way, because at Kellen's birthday party we had set up a Wii competition. Kyle liked having it in there, so it stayed. Against my will and better judgment. After wearing him down for months now, he finally helped me move it in the playroom and all is right with the world again.

The girls got home from school and then Kellen had basketball. Then it was our pizza and movie night. We watched Enchanted. LOVE that movie.

On Saturday, we hung pictures. Yay again for me! We're still not finished but I'm so glad to get some of our stuff up. I have been on a crazy organizing binge again. I finally got to all our closets (hence the picture hanging because that's where they were) and totally decimated the girl's playroom. It now looks more like a room with toys instead of a toy room. That night the girls went over to Lisa and Michael's for the evening while Kyle and I had a date night. We were celebrating his birthday. We went to the casino to play poker. Fun!

Sunday was Kyle's birthday (Happy 33rd honey!), so after church we went to the sports bar to watch the Colts. We left at half-time, though because Riley was being a nut and Jenna wasn't feeling good. We ran a few errands and then came home. I made a lasagna and baked a red velvet cake for Kyle's birthday dinner and then we gave him his gifts (A water fountain that Kellen bought with her own money, and a Reese's cup that Jenna bought with hers!)

Then Monday hit and this week has been crazy. Jenna had a raging ear infection. I had Brownies that afternoon. I forgot to drop off donations at church by the deadline and now had to drive the stuff all over creation. The brakes in my minivan are shot. My perfectly cleaned house is a mess again. I have a mountain of laundry to fold. We have kids book club this afternoon and didn't finish the book. And my sweet two year old was just "reading" a book about monsters to the dog. Not a cute fuzzy monster book, but one that Kellen brought home from school that has movie monsters in it, like Jason and Hannibal Lecter. Something I would totally buy for myself, but somehow not exactly appropriate for Riley.

"What's dis Mommy?" That's the Creature from the Black Lagoon. "What's dis?" Jaws. "Daws?" Yep, a scary shark that terrorized a New England town. Just like where we live. "What's dis?" Oh, that's Nosferatu. He's not scary, he's a vampire. We like vampires.
